ASEAN 2023 Summit Venue in Labuan Bajo Reaches 90 Percent

TRIBUNFLORES.COM, LABUAN BAJO-Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) accelerated the construction of the Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) area in Golo Mori, West Manggarai, Pulai Flores.

The MICE area, which is equipped with a beach club, observation deck, and wooden pier, is planned by the Government to be one of the venues for a series of activities for the May 2023 ASEAN Summit.

President Director of Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), Ari Respati said the progress of construction work on MICE facilities along with the basic infrastructure of the area reached an average of above 90 percent.

"We are optimistic that all work can be completed according to the target by the end of Q1-2023," he said, Thursday, February 2, 2023.

Ari said that until January 2023, the realization of the progress of the construction of each work item was the construction of regional road infrastructure reaching 92.54 percent, while the work of MICE, Beach Club, observation deck was 89.19 percent.

The progress of the area's road infrastructure work includes the construction of main road lanes, road shoulders, road drainage channels, Public Road Lighting (PJU), landscape, road markings, signs, and Guardrail on the side of the road.

Meanwhile, the total progress of MICE building construction work includes Convention Hall, Public Entrance, VVIP Lobby, VVIP Lounge, VVIP Meeting Room and Media Center, and Observation Deck.

The development of the MICE area in Golo Mori NTT is the third government assignment for ITDC in the development of tourism destinations in Indonesia. After previously in The Nusa Dua Bali and The Mandalika NTB areas.

ITDC is also committed to carrying out this assignment as well as possible, so that it can meet the government's expectations and targets.

"We hope that this region will successfully become the venue for the ASEAN Summit and can become a new leading tourist icon in eastern Indonesia," concluded Ari.
