Coordination Meeting on Super-Priority Destinations with Vice Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy
Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) held coordination meeting on the progress of tourism development at super priority destinations (DSP) on December, 13 2019 at its office. The meeting was led by the Vice Minister and attended by Deputy of Economy Bappenas, Head of BPIW Ministry of Public Work and Housing (MPH), Head of CPMU ITDP (Indonesia Tourism Development Project), Deputy Head of CPMU ITDP, and some other officers.
Head of BPIW informed that in short term for FY 2020, MPH has formulated program of infrastructures to support 5 (five) DSPs which will be integrated and synchronized with related ministries.
In a medium and long-term, Head of BPIW added that it is currently on the finalization of the Integrated Tourism Master Plans (ITMPs or Rencana Induk Pariwisata Terpadu—RIPT) for Lombok, Toba and Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan. In preparing ITMPs, it has been carried out by paying attention to available local wisdom, including in the form of existing local cultural architecture, for example, Gorga at Toba Area. In addition, ITMPs also use sustainable and safety development concept by paying attention to supporting and carrying capacity, and disaster management issue. For example, if there is a potency for earthquake, building construction should be designed to endure earthquake.
Deputy of Economy BAPPENAS reported that after ITMP accomplishment, it should be the reference for tourism development for all ministries/local government agencies. In relation to this, ITMP will be stipulated in the form of President Regulation and is targeted to be published in March 2020.
Head of CPMU P3TB added the substance of ITMP-related president regulation, which should contain the structure of implementation, coordination and financing.
The meeting then discussed various steps for tourism development acceleration at DSPs. Before concluding, Wamen Parekraf informed that President and Minister of Parekraf have planned to visit Labuan Bajo Tourism Area in Christmas period.
